It was just a matter of time… But we didn’t expect it so soon. The COVID delta outbreak in NSW (and other parts of Australia) has caught up with us. We are now in lockdown… in Byron Bay… in a van…
Luckily, it’s not that bad. We got a nice site on a very nice and mostly empty holiday park. The amenities are nice. There are still birds breeding on the site next to us. And we can stay here until the lockdown is over. We have heaps of toilet paper, grocery shops and take-away places in walking distance, and even the ocean is in our 10km radius.
We still hope it’ll be a matter of weeks, not months. This is not the #vanlife we were looking for. But we will see… It certainly won’t be over on Tuesday (that’s the initially announced lockdown period here in Byron). We are looking forward to seeing those eggs hatch on the site next to us…
