This is not the exactly #vanlife we were looking for. And it escalated really quickly…
On Monday morning, we woke up as free travellers. Having just enjoyed a few nice hikes on the past weekend and thinking about what to do next. On Tuesday morning, we woke up to a regional lockdown. And then on Friday morning, we woke up to a message from NSW Health that we’ve been to the wrong place at the wrong time.
We are considered “close contact” since we’ve been to an exposure site at roughly the same time as a Covid case. We had to get tested immediately and ,regardless of the result, completely self isolate for another week. Luckily, the campsite where we were locked down was very supportive and we moved into a cottage to avoid using the shared ammenities as an extra precaution.
Luckily, on Sunday we woke up with negative test results, but also a state wide lockdown. I guess this won’t be over any time soon… We’ll probably still move back into the van once our self-isolation is over. However, it is unlikely that we’ll be hitting the road to new places any time soon.
