We returned to Byron after a few days to enjoy the hipster city life for a while. Having some barista coffee, the occasional happy hour and going out for dinner a few times.
This time, we stayed on another campsite and had the fun of observing a bird couple breeding two eggs on the campsite right next to us.
The campsite is in walking distance to the city center, so we could leave the van there and stroll through the city on foot.
Byron is a bit of a ghost town at the moment. So many places are nearly empty… With no backpackers, no Sydneysiders and the border to QLD shut, there really aren’t that many non-locals around. We tried our best, keeping the economy running. But we alone won’t be enough. It’s nice for us, we never have wait in line or reserve a table. There is always a free spot, even in usually super busy places. We just hope that our favourite places will survive…
